Few cars on the road have the same instant visual recognition as smart (the Hummer and the VW Beatle also come to mind). As of late, smart has really started making waves in social media. Did you know that Razorfish is smart USA’s digital and social media AOR? Below we’ve compiled a few of the recent buzzworthy wins for the account…
smart on Twitter:
This sort of proactive engagement and monitoring has directed the spotlight on the smart Twitter handle, and helped to increase organic growth. Just last week, PR Daily listed smart as one of the “top Twitter handles to follow.” With around 4k followers, smart is by far the smallest community to earn this designation.
Fashion/design outreach and contest:
Not only is smart safe, but it’s also endlessly customizable. To help illustrate this message, smart reached out to 5 influential bloggers in the fashion and design categories to create their own custom wraps for the smart Wrap Stars contest. Users are asked to vote for their favorite design, and each vote is an entry to win a Macbook Pro. The winning blogger’s custom design will be offered as a wrap for smart cars everywhere.
The contest is live until tomorrow, September 20th and you can vote here
smart Tag Your Own Adventure on YouTube:
Tag Your Own Adventure created the very first crowdsourced “choose-your-own-adventure” story using Facebook’s photo albums. Users could click through the album to animate the story right in Facebook, and tag the direction they wanted the story to follow in the frames at the end of each chapter.
Now, fans can follow the same story on smart’s YouTube channel. Using annotations, viewers can direct smart’s adventure and construct the story as they see fit.
And as we move into 2013, developing interactive social content will continue to be a priority for the smart team so stay tuned for more fun and adventure from America’s first micro-car….
